ALMOST GLAM KITCHEN

The painting and tiling is still to be done, but seeing as so many of you are wanting to see it I thought I would give you "the almost Glam" shot. The little bit of bench that you can see in the bottom corner of the photo is the beginning of an L-shape bench which runs all the way to the opposite side of the fridge and has the sink, dishwasher and microwave in it. I promise more pics once all the finishing touches are done.

Not much else has been happening here in miserable Melbourne. Andrew has been home the last two days with a pretty bad sinus infection and like most men is of course dying. I still haven't done any scrapping since the Retreat but have managed to still do some shopping. I got my hands on some of the new Prima ribbons, which are truly divine, and have also got my very own Crop-a-dile.

In other shopping news I finally decided to go and buy myself some new cutlery and and a couple of new dinner sets, so now everything matches. Andrew and I also went window shopping this afternoon looking for a new square dining table, an entertainment unit and a corner lounge suit. We didn't have any luck with the lounge suit but we did find a gorgeous table and a 3.4 meter entertainment unit which I totally fell in love with. Andrew wasn't too keen on it at first but I managed to talk him around and he is even thinking of going back tomorrow to get, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

ALMOST OVER

My little poppet is almost over her bout of the chicken pox. It has definately been a trying time for all of us as she was quite unwell with them but this morning there didn't seem to be as many spots and she hasn't been as clingy or as grumpy today as she has been over the past week.

The kitchen man returns in the morning to put the cupboard doors on and then all we have left to do is a touch of painting and the tiling. There are also a few little "pretty" odds and ends that I would like to get to finish it off and then at least tow rooms in the house will be completely done.

Well off to watch Rove now...have a good one!

NO GLAMOUR PHOTOS JUST YET

The new kitchen and laundry is in, minus all the drawers and cupboard doors, so you will have to wait just a little longer for the glamour pics. The plumber is back again connecting everything back up, so in an hour or so I will have my dishwasher and washing machine working and will no doubt spend the rest of the week catching up on all the housework.

In other news, we celebrated Caitlin's 5th Birthday over the weekend. I think I'm still coming to turns with the fact that my baby is 5 and going to school next year. So on Saturday Uncle Sean (Caitlin's godfather) pick the two of us up and drove us to Castlemaine so see my cousin Felicity (who is Caitlin's godmother). Caitlin was very excited about heading up to the farm and could hardly wait to see all the new baby goats. The highlight of her day would be a toss up between the birthday cake shaped as a goat (thanks Fliss) and giving Primadonna her bottle. Now the story of Prim is that she was one of triplets but her mother abandoned her, so Fliss and my Aunty Kate basically nursed her back to life and she now thinks she is a cross between a house dog and a person. She even uses the doggy door to get into the house. I'm sure the photo of Caitlin shows just how special she thought Prim was.

After a big day on Saturday, we had the McDonalds party on Sunday and Caitlin just loved it. She was spoilt rotten by all her friends and I still can't believe the amount of presents she got. Amazingly she didn't double up on anything or receive anything that she already had, so a big thankyou to everyone and well done on your shopping.

Needless to say we were a little late for kinda this morning as we all struggled to get out of bed after our huge weekend. Georgia is making a slow recovery and is still very clingy but who could blame her. Well I suppose I should stop rambling on get my butt into gear and get a start on the mountain of washing I have. Just remembered I need to do supermarket shopping as well, Bugger, so I had better start that dreaded list that I always manage to leave at home anyway.

I'M SO EXCITED....

and I just can't hide it...I've got a new kitchen and I think I like it! Well almost anyway. The kitchen man is working away and already it looks amazing, more so than I could have imagined. I will upload some pics later on tonight when I can get back into the study.
Hope everyone is having a great day. Till later...

WHAT HAVE WE DONE ?

Just thought I would give you a glimpse of the mayhem. Hopefully by Tuesday I will be able to post the new glamorous photos.

NEVER RAINS...

but it pours...
I had completely written off the month of June as it just seemed to be one comedy of errors after another, but in July there was hope, a fresh start so to speak. Well all hope of that were dashed this morning when Georgia woke up covered in the chicken pox. Just when we thought she was all in the clear seeing as it had been two weeks since Caitlin had them, it wasn't to be. The timing couldn't be worse either with Caitlin's 5th birthday on Saturday and her McDonald's party and Sunday. I'm not too sure how Georgia is going to cope with not being able to go to Maccas.
In other news I have the plumber here as I type getting everything ready for my new kitchen and laundry which will be installed over the weekend. I am so excited and extremely relieved that this part of the renovations is nearly over with and that we may have some sort of order restored. Washing dishes in the bath isn't something that I want to do again in a hurry. When we decided to completely renovate it was so that we could sell up and move to a newer home but after a few late night chats recently, Andrew and I have figured out that we actually like where we live and that once the house is finished we will like our house too, so the new plan is to stay and extend the house upwards within the next couple of years. I must be crazy I know but once I stop thinking "not again" I starting feeling content sitting here in my loungeroom with an inch thick layer of plaster dust and boxes filled with kitchen stuff. One day this will be my dream home so for now I will just turn a blind eye to the chaos.

HELP PLEASE

I am trying to add links for the blogs that I like to read and even though I have read all about it in the help section it still seems like I am doing something wrong. Can anyone help?

EDITED ok I have figured it...finally!

JUST PLAYING

No real reason for posting this other than to see if I have figured out how to upload a pic.

I love this photo of Georgia. It is so hard to get a good one of her at the moment with all the silly faces she pulls whenever you ask her to smile, but for some reason she went along with it on this occasion.

NEW BLOG

Ok, after having I don't know how many dramas with my old blog I have decided to switch. It was a big decision but in the end it just felt right. I actually created my account here at blogger several months ago and have been coming back at least once a week, so I guess in the end it was the way to go. I'm still getting use to it so bear with me while I try to figure things out. Hopefully it won't be too long before we resume normal broadcasting.
