THIS IS KNIDA COOL..

Saw this on Kathryn's blog and thought I'd give it a go. You just need to head over to Wikipedia and scroll down to the search bar on the left hand sidebar. Enter your birthdate, month first then date (so for me it was August 7) and hit search. You'll get a list of all hits relevent to your search, so just click on the first one you see with your birthdate. Once you have done this choose three events that have occured on that date and then a few famous people who share your birthday. Here are my results;

Crop for Kids has pretty much been keeping me busy these last few weeks so I really haven't got anyhting exciting to tell. I have managed to do a little scrapping lately and am off to scan, so I will post some picks later.

WOOHOO I'VE FINALLY SCRAPPED

It has been so long, so that's why I am all exctied. I did this LO for Alison's challenge for the Cyber Crop that was held at KSK this past friday night.

I must get around to scanning some other LO's that I've done this year (there's not many LOL), but that's a another post.

STUFF

Well so much for me being more vigilant when it came to posting on my blog.

So what's news??? Not much really, well nothing overly exciting that's for sure, just the usual everyday stuff.

Caitlin is really enjoying school and I am amazed at how much she is growing up. While this is all wonderful, the one drawback is that she now thinks she is too big to play with her little sister. Don't get me wrong, they do still play together all the time, it's just that they fight about everything. Yesterday's spat was over a brown crayon...brown for god's sake...they could have least made it worthwhile and picked say purple or green.

Miss Gigi herself is a whole other story. Just when I thought she couldn't get anymore headstrong...this child will be the death of me, I'm sure. Even though she is hard work, there are days when she is just so adorably cute, just like in this photo.

I'M A BAD, BAD BLOGGER

and now that I have admitted that, you can all stop emailing me to remind me that it has been over a month since I last posted and that I need to update LOL

Things have been crazy hectic around here and I have soooo much to talk about...where do I start?

Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Scrapanalia Retreat at The Country Place, Kalorama, int the Dandenong Mountains. The venue was absolutely divine and on several occasions over the weekend the thought of never leaving did cross my mind. Having beautiful meals cooked for you, a serviette placed on your lap and somebody else doing the dishes and making the beds has an amazing way of rejuvenating the soul. I didn't get a lot done (ok 2 LO's, although one of them was a double) but being able to catch up with friends and make so many more far outweighed the whole scrapping thing. We had such a great group of women attend and it was nice that we all mingled together and made the effort to get to know one another. I have some photos to upload and will get on to that ASAP.

On Monday I attended the Making Memories Trade class at Quest Apartments in Richmond. Having had only a couple of hours sleep withing the four days leading up to it, I can't believe I actually managed to get through it. It was a great day and as soon as I finish my album I will upload some pics for all of you to see. I have to say a big thank you to Nicole and Emilie from Simply Scrapbooking in Eltham, who were great company and forgave me for my lack of brain power. I also bumped into an old friend that I hadn't seen in nearly six years. I had no idea that she scrapped, let alone that she owned her own online ribbon store. Simone's ribbons are reasonably priced and she has so new ribbons arriving from Malaysia soon, so head over to the Ribbon Palace website and check it out.

On Monday we also had Ebony's final X-rays and I am happy to report that she has the all clear. Thank you to everyone who has sent good vibes her way since the accident in December, it obviously had the right effect. The vets has also featured Eb in their February newsletter, so that was a little exciting for us. Check it out here.

I think that will do for one day. I'll be back to upload some photos and fill you in on everything else within the next couple of days...I promise.

CROP FOR KIDS

I have been meaning to get around to post about this all week.

Together with a group of amazing girls here in Melbourne, I am proud to say that I am part of the Crop for Kids All Day Crop. What started out as just an idea has already begun to grow and I am amazed at just how many people have been offering their support. Here's the details and don't forget to check out the blog here and help us get the word out there.

We are having an All Day Crop to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. We would love for this to be a huge event within the Victorian Scrapbooking community and hope that you can all help us achieve our goal of donating a sizable amount to this very worthwhile cause.

A FRESH NEW LOOK

So I have has a bit of a play with my blog today, and although I haven't quite finished yet, what do you think? I even played around and added some brushes to my banner photo before loading it on. Nothing to extravagant, just something simple.

I am just about ready for today to be over...I have had a shocker of a headache all day and have taken some Panadol, had a nap and nothing seems to be budging it. Nothing much else has happened today besides housework and playing on my blog. Andrew is at work until 8pm and Caitlin and Georgia have been setting a new world record for how much mess they can make in one day.

Speaking of the girls it's almost time for bed so I better go and run a bath.

2 POSTS JUST MINUTES APART

I know...but I was just editing some of the photos I took today and thought I just had to share.

I met there Mum, Bec, while I was in hospital pregnant with Caitlin. I had been in a room with two great gals and then they decided to send me home. When I was readmitted 24 hours later my previous bed had been taken and I had to be put in another room on a different ward. I was miserable. The other two girls in my new room were horrid, to say the least, and just when I thought I was going to go insane, they wheeled Bec in. We soon became the best of friends and I will never forget the look on her face when she saw Caitlin for the first time a week later. She told me that she thought she was the most beautiful little girl she had ever seen and was absolutely besotted by her...funny nothing much has changed since then.

Leaving Bec in the hospital 4 days later was really hard, especially considering she had nearly 3 months to go.
Bec went into premature labour and tiny little Melody Anastasia was born one week to the day after Caitlin. When I saw Melody in the NICU just a few days later I remember thinking that I had never seen a baby so small in all my life. She too was just beautiful and boy was she a fighter. Now standing half a head taller than Caitlin, it is hard to imagine the heart wrenching start to life she had.

Anyways, almost six years later and another baby each, we are still the best of friends and I love that our kids are able to share a wonderful friendship just like their Mum's.

Went to Sydney.

I too joined the gym but it didn't last long. I'm definately giving it a go again in 2007.

Yes, my sister-in-law Kirsty(Ethan) and my cousin's wife Nikki (Gemma).

Andrew's Nanna passed away in Spetember aged 91 and my Grandad passed away a few weeks later aged 83.

Unfortunately none

ANOTHER UPDATE ON EBBY & LIME TART SNEAK PEAKS

Ebby's surgery to put a plate in for her fractured pelvis went really well. No unexpected surprises and she is now on the road to recovery. She hadn't eaten since the accident so Andrew's mum and I headed into the vet's last night to see if we could persuade her. Not only did she woof it down but I thought at one stage that she was going to eat my hand too. The best news though is that we will have her home for Christmas, next weekend to be exact, so Santa really has come early for us.

In the midst of all the chaos I have also had my Lime Tart kit to play with, and while it was hard to find the time, it was definitely good to have something to keep my mind off things. So here are my sneak peaks and don't forget to head over to Lime Tart on Thursday to see the gallery! If you haven't got your hands on one of these kits yet, then you really need to. They are divine and Philippa really knows how to put them together.

UPDATE ON EBBY

Ebby's surgery went really well and there was no unexpected surprises for Julian (the vet). Since then though it has been discovered that Eb also has a small fracture in her pelvis, so it's back into surgery for her tomorrow afternoon. Other than this little set back, she is doing extremely well. Andrew and I took the girls into see her on Friday and Eb was extremely excited to see them, so that has to be a good sign.

Thank you to everyone who has left comments, sent emails and called, sending all their hugs and kisses. It really means alot to Andrew, Caitlin, Georgia and I to know that you were all thinking of our beloved furbaby.

Just a quick post...Our beautiful furbaby, Ebony, needs all of the good vibes you can send her way. She is in doggy hospital waiting to go into surgery tomorrow after being hit by a car. She looks absolutely dreadful but thankfully has no life threating injuries. She has a broken front leg and has to have a plate inserted and a badly torn eye although they are 90% sure that she will suffer no permanent damage. I will keep you all up-to-date with her progress when I can think a little more clearly. Please keep her in your thoughts.

MONDAYITIS

Gee I wish it was still Sunday! Why do weekends just fly by?

Saturday night Andrew and I had an absolute ball at my god-fathers 60th...it was so much more like a 21st. We got some great photos but they are on my Mum's camera, so as soon as I get them I will share. One of my fav's is of Andrew and Gary (my god-sister's boyfriend). They both hadn't shaved and looked all 'handsome and ruggered' according to them. In the photo they just look like long lost twins who are very drunk (Gary was NOT drinking, he's in pre-season and Andrew wasn't drunk yet!). Anyway I'll share it when mum gets it to me.

Not much else is news here. We had a pretty laszy day yesterday. Watched a DVD, did some scrapping and that's about it! Not much happening today either...too hot. I've got some washing on and I have had just realised that means I will have to go out in the heat to hang it out...DOH!

NEW BLOG, LAYOUT SHARE & BUSY WEEKEND

OK! First things first. My new blog design is thanks to my IT hubby. When it comes to HTML I have no idea, it all looks like gobbley goop to me, but Andrew understands it completely (I sometimes wonder if he understands it more than he understands me LOL) so all the prettiness is thanks to him.

There hasn't been much scrapping lately, with all the silly season beginning, but I did manage to scrap one complete LO and two almost complete LO's, last Saturday night while having a girls night at Jess'. We got Italian and scrapped till 4 in the morning all while watching Dirty Dancing and chitter chatting away. Here's the complete LO I did and I ma hoping to get the kids into bed at a reasonable hour tonight so I can finish the other two.



As for the weekend plans, its another busy one for us. Tomorrow morning I am helping my MIL out at the church fete. Every year the two of us run the baked potato stand. I then have to go shopping to find something to wear to my God-fathers 60th Birthday party tomorrow night, come home and get the kids ready, drop them off at my MIL's, head home and get ready and then wait for Andrew to get home from work at 8pm and do the Superman style outfit change and then head over to Glen Waverley for the party.

Sunday (fingers crossed for heaps of sunshine) I plan on making more of a dent in the growing washing pile that has appeared in my laundry due to my beloved dryer dying and then I have to give a young friend of ours a driving lesson. Sunday night for tea Andrew has asked if we can have a roast, so I'll have that to organise and then it's movie night with the girls and the pick is Banyard!
